We should remember that someone “close” to being a Christian is just as far away as a person who never commits to following Jesus. Salvation cannot rest on intellectual knowledge alone. You must repent, follow Jesus, and be made a new person by his Holy Spirit. Don’t be content with being close; take the step and make the commitment.
